AEGEAN, Dentsu and Project Agora launch together “Vertical Ads”
Press Release
They appear on the lock screen of Xiaomi phones
Project Agora and Taboola are now integrating native advertising content, “Vertical Ads”, into the lock screens of Xiaomi phones, thus extending the Taboola News feature in Greece. Taboola News, which completes three years of operation serving organic content drawn from Project Agora’s partnerships with Greek content sites, now offers the ability to leverage this unique placement for advertisers as well.
Dentsu and AEGEAN, the popular Greek airline, are the first to utilize this new advertising placement and format for their “AEGEAN For Families” promotional campaign. The campaign, which focuses on benefits and services for families traveling with AEGEAN, appeared on the lock screens of Xiaomi mobile phones, offering a completely new and innovative native advertising experience.
The integration of organic and advertising content on the lock screen offers Xiaomi users a personalized experience. Using artificial intelligence, Taboola tailors content to each user’s preferences and interests in a subtle and effective way. Thus, digital publishers and advertisers gain direct access to the personal devices of 734 thousand users in the country, at the most visible point of contact with the user, occupying the entire lock screen of smartphones.
Paulina Tsathiri, Global Media Agency Director of Project Agora, shares: “With Vertical Ads we offer the innovative experience of Lock Screen Ads in the Greek market. We are delighted that AEGEAN became the first advertiser to use this new medium to reach travelers. Taboola is pioneering once again by integrating AI-powered recommendations into Xiaomi smartphones, and holds similar global partnerships with other manufacturers as well, such as Apple and Samsung. Vertical Ads ensure maximum impact in a short period of time, as they take over the lock screen, informing and driving consumers to action.”
